We need a field-capable Network Deployment Engineer who can walk into a Cisco environment, migrate it to Juniper, and leave the site fully operational.
This is a hands-on, travel-intensive role. If you’re the person who can review an existing switch config, onboard replacement gear through Mist, execute a controlled cutover, and troubleshoot whatever the field throws at you — we want to talk.
📍 Location: Nationwide travel (based anywhere)
💼 Type: Full-time, contract, or project-based
What you’ll be doing:
• Stage, install, configure, and validate Juniper EX4400 switches
• Onboard and manage devices through the Juniper Mist platform
• Migrate legacy Cisco Catalyst environments with minimal disruption
• Validate VLANs, trunks, PoE, uplinks, LACP, STP, and management connectivity
• Install copper and fiber uplinks, SFP transceivers, and patch cabling
• Execute maintenance window cutovers and troubleshoot field conditions independently
• Complete site acceptance documentation, asset records, and post-install testing
What we’re looking for:
✅ 3+ years hands-on enterprise switch installation and configuration
✅ Juniper EX Series experience — EX4400 preferred
✅ Hands-on Juniper Mist — onboarding, templates, port profiles, monitoring
✅ Junos OS CLI proficiency
✅ Cisco Catalyst experience — able to read IOS configs and translate to Junos
✅ Strong command of VLANs, STP, LACP, PoE, Layer 2/3, SFPs, fiber standards
✅ Comfortable with cutovers, maintenance windows, and working independently on-site
✅ Willing to travel extensively nationwide
Bonus points:
⭐ JNCIA-Junos or Juniper Mist certification
⭐ CCNA or equivalent
⭐ Experience migrating Cisco 2960/3560/3650/3750/3850 to Juniper
⭐ Prior government, education, or distributed enterprise experience
⭐ CompTIA Network+ or Security+
All travel expenses covered. Direct access to company leadership. Real work on a meaningful federal program.
