As an Account Manager II (AM or Account Manager) you will be responsible for developing and growing enduring customer relationships on an assigned a portfolio of landscape maintenance contracts. The AM is the primary liaison to the customer, ensuring that the customer’s expectations for quality and service are heard and that service actions are taken that meet and exceed customer expectations. The Account Manager coordinates the activities of the Landscape Production Managers and their crews to ensure the highest quality landscaping services are performed. The AM serves as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, helping the customer to see the possibilities for their property and working to enhance the overall appearance and appeal of the property. The AM serves as a trouble shooter, identifying problems and providing solutions that meet customer expectations and overseeing service recovery when necessary. The Account Manager, as needed, may also participate in new BCM sales to prospective customers, to add to the branch portfolio.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES • Walk the property with the customer to gain a deep understanding of the customer’s goals for the property, to observe specific needs and provide subject matter expertise that improves the overall quality and appearance of the property. Conduct LQA’s as appropriate.
•Translate customer goals and needs into expectations that the Landscape Production Manager can implement.
•Inspect the property to ensure service quality meets or exceeds customer expectations. Provide corrective feedback to Landscape Production Manager as appropriate.
•Communicate actions to the customer to keep them informed of the services that are being provided.
•Identify potential problems early, troubleshoot and communicate solutions to the customer and ensure that problems are remediated efficiently and effectively. Close the loop with the customer.
•Develop long term and project based plans that enhance the appearance of the property and advise the customer on the value of enhancements to the customer’s goals for the property. Serve as a trusted advisor to help the customer meet their landscaping goals for the property.
•Provide estimates for supplemental work & enhancements that improve the quality of landscape. Inspect enhancement work to ensure it meets the customer’s expectations.
•Attend events and appropriately entertain the customer to build a relationship of trust and friendship
•Manage the renewal process to ensure a continued and long term relationship with the customer
•Conduct educational seminars that introduce the customer to different design and horticultural practices
•Attend industry specific association meetings that expose other potential customers to TruGreen’s capabilities.
•Seek the customer’s sponsorship to expand the relationship to other properties the customer manages or for introduction to colleagues within the customer’s organization. Seek referrals based on a strong relationship and a track record of service, expertise and trust. Sell outside the portfolio, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS • Degree in Landscape/Horticulture or related field preferred
•Experience in a similar customer liaison role
•Basic understanding of budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting
•Proven success in retaining high quality properties through effective customer communication
