Director of Operations — California Bus & Truck Service, Inc.

California Bus & Truck Service, Inc. (\”CBTS\”) is an affiliate of Silverado Stages, Inc. and provides motorcoach, shuttle and van maintenance and repair services to Silverado and outside companies. CBTS has shop facilities and mobile service trucks in Sacramento, San Luis Obispo, Bakersfield, Orange County and Las Vegas. The CBTS Director of Operations is officed at our San Luis Obispo headquarters and is responsible to provide overall direction to the entire operation.
CBTS is a young company, two years old, and we are now expanding our service to outside bus and truck clients.
Position Summary:
The Director of Operations is responsible to manage delivery of an outstanding service experience to our clients. This is accomplished through managing each shop\’s Service Manager and by creating and implementing service policies and procedures across the entire organization that optimize inspection, maintenance, repair and cleaning of vehicles. The Director of Operations ensures a safe and environmentally compliant operation.
Experience & Skills Required:
* 3+ years multiple location bus or truck shop management experience
* 10+ years bus or truck maintenance experience
* Skilled in oral and written communications.
* Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with staff and clients.
* Strong analytical and reasoning skills.
Minimum Education & Certifications Required:
* 4 year degree or equivalent experience
* A California Class A or B commercial driver\’s license with appropriate endorsements is highly desirable; must pass physical and drug/alcohol screen.
Qualification/Requirements:
* Expert knowledge of vehicle maintenance shop practices and equipment operations.
* Expert knowledge of methods and techniques used in vehicle maintenance and repair in a fleet environment.
* Expert knowledge of OSHA regulations to establish safety policies and procedures for fleet service operations.
* Expert knowledge of Federal and State regulations as they pertain to vehicle maintenance and repair, and all associated records, documentation and reporting.
* Expert knowledge of modern principles of organization, including familiarity with planning work and measuring performance outcomes.
* Excellent command of the English language – oral and written.
* Intermediate experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
* Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Incumbent must be able to move about the office and between floors; pick up and carry a 50 lb. box; utilize standard office equipment; access filing system/cabinets; and communicate effectively and efficiently in person or by telephone.
