Program Manager – Informal and Community Learning
Summary of Role:
In addition to offering formal training classes for the Engineering audience, the CDO Learning & Development team is also asked to play a role in supporting informal learning and community-based learning events aligned to specific technology trends, job roles, or Engineering initiatives. CDO L&D is seeking an experienced program manager to ensure that such informal and community-focused events are well-planned, executed, and measured, with an emphasis on providing maximum learning value through such events.
Overview of Responsibilities:
• Work with Engineering stakeholders to understand their event vision and recommend appropriate areas for L&D partnership.
• Work with Core L&D team to develop a differentiated learning experience for each event.
• Collaborate with broader event planning teams to scope, plan, and execute all event elements directly related to L&D responsibilities.
• Coordinate with event support resources across Cisco (e.g. Video Production, Event Spaces, Learning Administration) and external speakers/consultants to ensure successful event delivery.
• Partner with Curriculum Leads, Business Engagement Managers, and Instructional Designers within CDO L&D team to ensure alignment and maximum value of each event.
• Partner with internal Marketing teams to drive awareness and participation in programs/events.
• Manage program budget and related outside service expenses affiliated with informal/community learning events.
• Manage evaluation data and tracking against target success metrics related to program.
• Provide visibility to program and impact by documenting and communicating program details and impact to various internal stakeholders.
Skills & Experience:
• Program Management Skills (e.g. managing multiple projects to achieve an overall goal, budget management, risk assessment, etc.)
• Strong project management skills — ability to estimate work effort and manage to schedule
• Experience with event management and logistics (preferably, events with learning focus)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with a broad team of stakeholders and influence outcomes
• Experience managing a budget
• Experience working with data to evaluate and communicate program impact
• Experience performing needs analysis to determine critical learning objectives
• Experience building learning solutions targeted at both in-room audiences, as well as virtual audiences online
• Ability to work effectively with a global team using a variety of online collaboration tools
• Experience with video production and delivery a plus
• Strong technical background to better enable conversations with Engineering teams a plus
