JOB DESCRIPTION
The VIDEO BENCH REPAIR TECHNICIAN for testing, repairing and maintaining PRG video equipment and tools in the Video Services Department. The responsibilities include examining, repairing, trouble-shooting in-coming video equipment and preparing out-going equipment (Broadcast cameras, vision mixers, remote camera systems as well as Matrix based signal flow equipment), assisting in loading and unloading of trucks and supporting the Video Services Manager with other duties as requested.
The work involves
– Specific vision abilities required by this job include very close vision, distance vision and excellent depth perception.
– Specific skill abilities required by this job include: Soldering, Electrical/Electronic Diagnostics, Board level repairs, use of a Multi-Meter, use of an Oscilloscope, able to read and understand schematics.
– Test, repair and maintain PRG video equipment using set company procedures and guidelines.
– Identify electronic/mechanical problems by use of diagnostic equipment
– Test and verify sub-assemblies and major system components and have an intermediate understanding of control software and operation. Ensure the timely retrofit and upgrade of assigned equipment to meet current standards of performance set forth in technical bulletins and notices.
– Able to read and understand schematics.
– Recalibrate and verify factory manufacturing specifications for pertinent equipment. Ensure the quality of all equipment prepared in assigned area of responsibility meets or exceeds standards of performance defined by company guidelines.
– Review part stock levels with Video Services Manager. Maintain and enter all factory acceptance testing and QC documentation
– Utilize internal parts information database (PRG-IPB)
-Ensure the accuracy of all equipment checked out in assigned area of responsibility.
– Complete the preparation of equipment in assigned area of responsibility in the specified time frame and order set by the Video Services Manager.
– Submit neat and orderly records of all equipment prepared in assigned area of responsibility.
– Load and unload trucks using set company safety procedures and guidelines.
– Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
– Report to work at assigned time.
– Perform other incidental tasks, as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
– Minimum 2 years work experience with video equipment repair and/or similar industry. Have working knowledge of and proficiency in Grass Valley, Ross, Sony, Panasonic, Ikegami, Fujinion, Canon, Barco.
– Minimum High School diploma required. Training/certification from video equipment manufacturers helpful.
– Demonstrated technical/electronics training and/or experience
– Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills; must have experience in a very busy work environment to be able to keep up with changes to orders.
– Clear verbal and written communication. Fluency in English required.
– Experience with soldering, electrical/electronic diagnostics and board level repairs.
– Knows how to use Multi-Meter, Oscilloscope, read and understand schematics.
– Knows how to use basic hand tools (hand drill, screw driver, wrenches etc.).
– Experience in lighting rental shop and entertainment industry helpful.
– Can trouble shoot using fundamental electronics principles
– Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
– Excellent attendance track record.
– Clear verbal communication. Fluency in English required.
– Experience in video rental shop and entertainment industry helpful.
– Ability to lift 50-100 lbs.
