CornerStone Staffing is currently recruiting for the following position:
Job Title: Grant Writer
Location: Dallas, TX
Pay: $17.00
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm
Job Description:
Researches and identifies government funding (city, county, state and federal) opportunities and evaluates appropriateness for Corps and Social Service Centers; develops applications and proposals for government funding, as well as formalized agency partnerships and collaborations; leads in the grant process to secure funding that will sustain and expand program and administrative needs; identifies and secures new funding opportunities to increase existing award levels throughout DFWMC; develops and maintains thorough knowledge of DFWMC programs, services and outcome measures; facilitates the completion and submission of renewals; establishes, maintains and updates an applications funding calendar.
Essential Functions:
Grants Writing Responsibilities (60%)
Supports the local Units in the process of securing government funding requests and renewals for social services, youth and educational programs at Corps and Social Service Centers; provides assistance in the preparation and submission process of applications, proposals, memorandums of understanding, facility usage agreements, formalized partnerships and collaborations.
Assembles all pertinent materials in packages for final submission to DHQ; facilitates the review and approval process; ensures overall accuracy and quality of all documents leaving the organization.
Grants Funding Research Responsibilities (30%)
Researches public funding opportunities for our programs; develops local unit or command wide funding proposals; works with appropriate DFWMC departments and local unit staff members to research, propose, prepare, write, coordinate and submit funding proposals; proposes and creates a sustainable funding plan and timeline for Corps and Service Center facilities.
Assists Corps Officers or appropriate staff personnel, under the direction of the Director of Program Services, in the implementation of a government funding plan and applications timeline; researches funding sources and makes strategic recommendations and suggestions regarding appropriate requests to funders.
Develops and maintains thorough knowledge of DFWMC programs and services; utilizes program Standard Operating Procedures (\”SOPs\”) and Outcome Plans that have been developed by program management; ensures quality applications to be reflective of current programming and overall accuracy of documents leaving the organization.
Conducts research on National program baseline data and best practice methods.
Conducts research regarding community statistics; including demographic and socioeconomic trends and other human service organizations impact on various identified community needs
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of effective and efficient methods for organizing and maintaining records and ability to perform the same
Knowledge of the principles and practices of grant administration and grant writing skills
Ability to read and understand complex application documents
Ability to prepare and maintain reports in an accurate, complete and timely manner
Ability to work independently and with limited supervision
Ability to maintain security of confidential records and information
Knowledge of Excel and MS Office software applications
Must have strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to pay attention to detail and ensure compliance with complex reporting and agreement specifics
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work in order to accomplish work in compliance with quality standards and deadlines
Education and Experience:
Bachelor\’s Degree from an accredited college or university in human services, social services, or an appropriate field, and Three years related work experience in successful grant writing or applicable field
OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
