Epic (www.epicmagazine.com) is hiring an Office Administrative Assistant. We are looking for someone who is industrious, organized, enjoys architecting organizational systems, is an excellent problem solver, and wants to work closely with a creative team.The job is a mix of assisting both our VP of Operations and Editor in Chief with administrative and office tasks.
Epic is a digital publication and film/television production company that tells true stories in a variety of media. We publish longform true stories online, many of which go on to become books, podcasts, films, and TV shows. We are 100% focused on non-fiction storytelling and our team of writers and researchers travel the world to hunt for incredible true-life tales.
The company–which has offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco–was founded by Joshuah Bearman and Joshua Davis, two award-winning magazine writers and film producers who have had nearly 30 stories optioned for film and television projects, including the Academy-Award-winning film ARGO. Epic has a film deal with 20th Century Fox and a television deal with A&E Studios. This position will be based in Epic’s San Francisco office.
The ideal candidate:
Has a minimum of 2 years of experience with administrative support, with a positive track record
Is organized and detail-oriented, with an ability to get things done efficiently
Has the ability to prioritize tasks
Loves creative problem solving and bringing new ideas to the table to improve existing systems and build better ones up from the ground
Has experience with research and organizational systems
Is a people-person
Is a reader
Is a self-motivated hard worker
Is comfortable wearing multiple hats with a strong work ethic
Ideal but not required:
Interest in storytelling and filmmaking
The ability to captain large sailing vessels
Responsibilities will include…
Office operations, which include: Filing, invoicing, client relations, making phone calls and handling confidential documentation
Administrative Tasks
Design asset management
Researching images and facts
Coordinating office events.
Research travel and accommodation for staff
Maintaining staff calendars
THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW:
1) This is a full-time salaried position, on payroll.
2) Pay commensurate with experience.
3) Position is based in San Francisco, CA.
